Ipswich and Greater Springfield sit twenty minutes apart and a century and a half apart at the same time. Ipswich is Queensland's oldest provincial city, its hills stacked with timber homes, verandahs and period gardens under mature trees. Springfield is the opposite story: a master-planned city still being built, where whole streets of new homes are waiting on yards to match.

One thing unites them: heat. Summers out here run hotter than coastal Brisbane, with harder afternoon sun and no sea breeze to take the edge off. Attn: Landscapes is a design-only studio (qualified landscape designer Shannon Trevisiol designs, your contractor builds), and out here we design shade first: canopy, orientation, sheltered outdoor rooms. In this corridor a garden you can't use in January isn't really a garden.

Heritage homes, period gardens

Ipswich's older streets deserve gardens that match the architecture, with generous verandah plantings, proper front paths, and crepe myrtles and frangipanis doing what they've done here for a hundred years. We design period-appropriate structure with a modern spine: soil work, smart irrigation and species selections that cope with today's hotter summers.

Along the river east of the city, blocks stretch to acreage scale, and the brief shifts to masterplanning: zones, screening and staged planting a family can grow into over a decade.

Springfield's blank canvases

Master-planned estates hand over yards that are neat, compact and bare. The design job is adding the missing layers: shade you can sit under, planting that softens fences and walls, and an entertaining area positioned for breeze rather than for the convenience of the slab. Covenants are common here, and we design to them from the first sketch.

Around the golf-course precinct and the newer prestige builds, the brief often leans contemporary: structured planting, clean materials, a garden as sharp as the house. That's home territory for our modern garden design work; where owners want the result without the weekend upkeep, our low-maintenance designs carry the load.

Our Design Discovery Consultation runs $350 on-site within Brisbane metro; the Ipswich and Springfield corridor generally carries a modest travel surcharge on top, quoted before you book so there are no surprises on the day.
